Training Strategies,
Methodologies, and
Technologies

"Push" Strategy - Use this strategy when the subject
matter is very much black & white, and you expect little
or no student participation.  The instructor "pushes" the
information out to the students and gets little to no
feedback from them.  An example of this strategy is the
virtual live classroom training now possible with
applications such as Centra and Microsoft LiveMeeting.
[Live - Instructor led]

"Collaboration" Strategy - Use this strategy when the
session is intended to be both "training" and
"discussion."  An example of this strategy is project
management training, where the discussion of
techniques may add to the training experience. [Live -
Instructor led]

"Self-paced" Strategy - Use this strategy to deliver
"push" type training without the benefit of a live
instructor.  Advantages include consistency of content.
Disadvantages include the inability to address student
questions.  [Not live - not instructor led]

"Learning Embedded" Strategy - Use this strategy to
supplement any of the other strategies.  Embedded
learning comes in the form of online Help screens,
graphic simulations, or even instructions that are labels
on the screens of the application being implemented.

               Design Methodology

We approach each and every training project with this
proven adult education methodology:  Tell Me, Show
Me, Let Me, Help Me.

                      Technologies

Push, Collaboration, and Self-paced training can be
created with Microsoft Office components, as well as a
number of other technologies including Flash (R) from
Adobe Systems and Lectora (R) from Trivantis.

Embedded training can be created as a part of the
application, if you are writing the code, or with
commercial products including RoboHelp (R).

In almost all cases, we recommend a blended approach to training, with some or
all of the technologies above being used at specific times, or for specific
audiences.  We can help you determine the best approach in your organization.
